Arrest

PEMBROKE — Austin Dial, 18, of 511 Onnie Joe Road, was arrested on Wednesday and is charged with second-degree burglary, two counts of larceny after breaking and entering, two counts of felony conspiracy, breaking and entering and manufacture of marijuana, according to the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office. He is being held in the Robeson County jail under a $65,000 bond.

Dial broke into a home on Onnie Joe Road on May 18 and took items valued at a total of about $12,000, according to sheriff’s Maj. Howard Branch. Dial returned to the same home the next day to steal additional items valued at a total of $3,000, Branch said.

When Dial was arrested at his home at 8:45 a.m., a deputy saw marijuana plants growing in a field near his home, Branch said.

Theft

LUMBERTON — Lacy Smith, of 11th Street, reported on Tuesday that someone took a $400 engine and a $200 rear-wheel assembly from his scooter while it was attached to a porch rail, according to a police report.

LUMBERTON — Willie McLaughlin, of Martin Luther King Drive, reported on Tuesday that someone took medication valued at $100 from his mail box, according to a police report.

Break-ins

LUMBERTON — Anthony Cabuto, of 18th Street, reported on Tuesday that someone broke into his storage shed and took a $200 lawn mower, according to a police report.
