David Hammonds, 66, of 162 Fields Road, died Nov. 5, 2012, at Southeastern Hospice House.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at Smyrna Baptist Church, the Revs Carl Pevia, Roosevelt Scott and James Mitchell Cummings officiating. Interment will follow in the Bayside Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors provided by the Robeson County Honor Guard.
Hammonds was born in Robeson County on Oct. 7, 1946, to the late David H. and Clara Mae Wilkins Hammonds.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, James Oscar Hammonds and Kenneth Hammonds.
Hammonds is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Hammonds of the home; two sons, Steven Ray Hammonds and Jeffrey Lynn Hammonds and wife Diane, all of Lumberton; a daughter, Stephanie Ann Chavis and husband Brent of the home; two brothers, Daniel Hammonds of Lumberton and Billy Ray Hammonds of Pennsylvania; four sisters, Clara Joyce Fields, Mary Lois Hernandez, Teresa Ann Hammonds and Geraldine Hammonds, all of Lumberton; a grandson, Kendrick Seals of Conway S.C.; a special mother-in-law, Annie Neal Hammonds of Lumberton; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Revels Funeral Home in Lumberton.
