LUMBERTON — The North Carolina Department of Transportation will temporarily detour a section of Interstate 95 in Robeson County from Exit 33 to Exit 41.

Weather permitting, the detour will begin at 8 p.m. Monday and continue until 7 a.m. the following day.

There will be a signed detour as follows: I-95 North to Exit 33 to U.S. 301 North to Chicken Foot Road (SR 2285 in Cumberland County) back to I-95 North at Exit 41.

Previously the detour had been scheduled for this past Thursday, however, it was postponed due to bad weather.

The closure is needed to raise the vertical clearance of the Parkton Tobemory Bridge (SR 1723) over I-95.

Plan ahead before driving by visiting the NCDOT Traveler Information Management System Web site at www.ncdot.gov/traffictravel/ or call 511, the state’s toll-free travel information line for current travel conditions.
