NCSU dean’s
list announced
RALEIGH — Several students with Robeson County roots recently made N.C. State University’s dean’s list for the fall semester.
They are: Joshua Karl Bass, Johna Alexandria Edmonds, Sara Elizabeth Grissom, Erik William Gutekunst, Anna Kittrell Read, Jessica D’Ana Wine, Katherine Rose Lewis, Bobby Franklin McDuffie, Addison J McMillan, Andrew Pitman Bullard and Justin Marcus Milstein, all of Lumberton; Cameron Whitfield Parnell of Parkton; Samuel Clayton Graham of Fairmont; James Cody Oxendine and Taylor B. Hunt, both of Pembroke; Donovan Samir Lewis of Rowland; and Megan L. Jones of Maxton.
Parnell, Graham and Jones each achieved a 4.0 grade-point average.
Pageant raffle
set for Feb. 2
PEMBROKE — The drawing for a raffle of a 2010 Ford Focus or the cash value of the car will be held on Feb. 2, with the proceeds to benefit the Miss UNCP Scholarship Pageant.
Raffle tickets are $25, and only 1,000 will be sold.
Tickets can be purchased from UNCP staff members Teresa Bryant; Cynthia Oxendine; Teresa Oxendine; Renee Steele; Morgan Warriax; Frederick Stephens; Virgil Oxendine; and Robert Canida.
Scholarship
deadline Feb. 10
RALEIGH — The deadline to apply for the 2012 Local Government Federal Credit Union Scholarship is Feb. 10.
Scholarships will be awarded to as many as 120 graduating high school students and students pursuing higher education. Awards of $1,000 can be applied to tuition, books, computer or other fees. The scholarships recognize achievement in academics and extracurricular activities.

Knuckles names
top employees
LUMBERTON — Sarah Wilkinson and Arnitta Floyd have been chosen as the employees of the month for January at W.H. Knuckles Elementary School.
Wilkinson is a fourth grade teacher and Floyd is a first grade teachers assistant.
