Empty Stocking Fund applications accepted Nov. 24-25
LUMBERTON — The Department of Social Services will be accepting applications for help from the Empty Stocking Fund on Nov. 24 and Nov. 25 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
This year applications will be taken at the O.P. Owens Building beside the Health Department on N.C. 72. In the past, applications were taken at the Bill Sapp Recreation Center. Children must be ages 1 to 13 to be eligible.
Applicants should bring proof of any household income, photo ID, and Social Security numbers for all members of household. Those who received help from the fund last year are ineligible this year.
The Robesonian collects donations for the fund, which the DSS uses to buy vouchers of $50 per child to give to parents. The vouchers can be redeemed at Rose’s and Kmart.
