To the Editor,
When the Mississippi primary was held, the folks there had a chance to vote on what was called “The Heartbeat Bill.” It was to protect little babies in the womb. Mississippians were bombarded with calls and ads threatening loss of contraception rights and the like, fabrications, falsehoods and flat-out lies. The bill was browbeaten down.
Fast forward to May 8 in North Carolina and and Amendment One, the Marriage Amendment, same tactics, different results. Now we are told we look like Mississippi. From a low hill in Sodom, maybe we do.
