PEMBROKE — The Givens Performing Arts Center will hold a performance of “Hansel and Gretel” by the participants in the GCamp Summer Camp on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
The performance ends the week-long instruction for children ages 7 to 18 by professional directors from Missoula Children’s Theatre in Missoula, Mont. Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and $4 for children.
PEMBROKE — The Pembroke Recreation Department will be holding a free outdoor movie night at 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 9.
Attendants are asked to bring a lawn chair. No coolers are allowed as a concession stand will be available for refreshments.

MAXTON — The Maxton Police Department will hold a National Night Out at Beachum Park from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday.
There will be free hot dogs, beverages, candy and entertainment, as well as activities for children.
