RED SPRINGS — The Red Springs And Northern Railroad Foundation will hold Rails To Christmas rail car rides on Friday and Saturday, and Dec. 21 and Dec. 22 at the depot on the corners of East Third and North Main streets. Trains will run from 6 to 10 p.m. each day.

There will be hot chocolate and cookies available, and every child 12 and under will receive a Christmas gift bag. Attendants are asked to bring a new, unwrapped gift to donate to the Toys for Tots program.

LUMBERTON — The Lumber River State Park will hold a hike on Jan. 1 starting at Princess Ann Access Area at 10 a.m.

The hike will feature different bird and wildlife sitings, and will cover at least six habitats.

PEMBROKE — The Pembroke Volunteer Fire Department will hold the seventh annual Christmas Ride for Kids, a motorcycle ride starting at the Fire Department at 102 W. Fourth St. on Dec. 15 from 10 to 11 a.m.

Proceeds from ticket sales, which are $10 per single rider and $15 per couple, will go toward the purchase of Christmas clothes for needy children in Robeson County.
