Benefit bike

run on Sept. 23

PEMBROKE — There will be a Bike Run to benefit Michael Sampson, who is battling cancer, on Sept. 23 starting at the C & P Mini Mart on Union Chapel Road. Registration will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for a single rider and $15 for a couple.

Art Guild calls

for submission

LUMBERTON — The River Roots Arts Guild is accepting submissions for sculpture, paintings, drawings, printmaking, photography, collage, ceramics and fiber arts for a juried art show, which will take place on Sept. 13 at the Carolina Civic Center.

Submissions will be taken between 4 and 6 p.m. on Sept. 11. The entry fee is $10 for the first entry and $5 for each additional entry for non-members of the Guild.
