PEMBROKE — Union Elementary School will be sponsoring the “Spirit Riders,” a motorcycle back-to-school run on Aug. 5. Registration will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. and the riders will leave at 2:30 p.m. from the C&P Mini Mart in Pembroke.

The cost is $10 per rider or $15 per couple.

LUMBERTON — The Arts Council of Fayetteville and Cumberland County is now accepting applications for the North Carolina Arts Council Regional Artist Project grants.

A free grant workshop will be held at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 9 at the Carolina Civic Center Historic Theater at 315 N. Chestnut St. in downtown Lumberton at the Fourth Street entrance. The workshop is recommended for first-time applicants.

Applications must be received by 5 p.m. Sept. 5 at P.O. Box 318 Fayetteville, N.C., 28302-0318.

RALEIGH — The North Carolina Museum of History in Raleigh will host an outdoor exhibit of “History of the Harvest” on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. in Bicentennial Plaza at 5 E. Edenton St.

The exhibit follows the history of the state’s agriculture, from medicinal plants grown by American Indians before European contact, to new corn hybrids developed by using advanced plant-breeding technology.
