PEMBROKE — Studio One Lab Series’ spring musical, “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,” will be performed from Thursday to Sunday at the Givens Performing Arts Center.

The show will be performed at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. On Friday, there will be an extra showing at 10 a.m.

ST. PAULS — The 11th annual North Carolina Folk Arts Festival will be held on Saturday in St. Pauls.

The event, which will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m, will have crafts, food, chair-caning demonstrations, a chili cook-off, a blacksmith and a Civil War re-enactment group. To be involved in the chili cook-off, e-mail Grady Pardue at jamacianjerkNC@gmail.com.

LUMBERTON — Lumberton author p.m. terrell and her co-author T. Randy Stevens will be speaking and signing copies of their book “The Banker’s Greed” at various locations in the county from May 25 to May 26.

The two will be at the Pembroke Public Library at 10 a.m. on May 25, at the McMillan Memorial Library in Red Springs at 3 p.m. on May 25, and at the Osterneck Auditorium in Lumberton at 7 p.m. on May 26.

The event is free and open to the public.
