Lumberton — The Robeson County Historical and Genealogical Society is preparing a book containing the genealogical data — name, birth date and death date — on every gravestone in Meadowbrook Cemetery.

PEMBROKE — Students in the Theatre Department of The University of North Carolina at Pembroke will present “The Laramie Project” at 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Friday and at 2 p.m. Saturday at Givens Performing Arts Center.

The production is based on more than 200 interviews with residents of Laramie, Wyo., following the death of Matthew Shepard in 1998. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Givens Performing Arts Center box office at (910) 521-6361 or (800) 367-0778.

ORRUM — There will be an educational and historical haunted hay ride from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Friday at Lumber River State Park in Orrum.

Admission is free and the rides are first-come, first-served. Participants will learn about the river’s history.

PEMBROKE — The 38th annual Lumbee Fall Festival will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Lumbee Regional Development Association complex on Prospect Road in Pembroke.

There will be food, arts, crafts, music and dance. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for children 6 to 12 years old and free for children 5 years old and younger.

PEMBROKE — The River Valley Players will present “A Comedy in One Act” by Dennis Snee at 7 p.m. Saturday in Moore Hall at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke.

Josh McIlvain and Wilmer Baffle will also perform.

Tickets, available at the door, are $5 for students and $8 for others. Proceeds will go to the Fayetteville Animal Protection Society.

RED SPRINGS — The Mill Prong House, built around 1795, will be open from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at 3062 Edinburg Road.

The house — one of the few remaining from Highland Scot settlements — was renovated in the 1830s and restored in the 1990s.

PEMBROKE — The Virsky National Dance Company will perform at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Givens Performing Arts Center.

Tickets range from $15 to $30 and can be purchased by calling the box office at (910) 521-6361 or (800) 367-0778.

LUMBERTON — There will be a community harvest festival from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Parkview Activity Center.
