LUMBERTON — Boxers and beagles and poodles, oh my! Fifty or so people and their pets came out Saturday for Lumberton’s first Pet Parade, hosted by The University of North Carolina at Pembroke’s Animal Savior Klub, a student-faculty-staff organization. Lineup began at 9 a.m. at Jerry Giles Park, across from Sonic at Roberts Avenue and Walnut Street. The parade began at 10 a.m. sharp and participants made a small loop through residential areas north of Roberts Avenue, winding back to the park for food, fun and games. Prizes were awarded in many categories like Best Pet Trick, Cutest Dog, Longest Ears and more.
