LUMBERTON —Three men robbed a Lumberton meat salesman at gunpoint Wednesday near Edgewood and Alexander streets and shot at his truck as he drove away, according to Lumberton polices Sgt. Harold Jackson.
Kevin Purvis, of Florence Court, was working in a mobile meat sales truck in the area of Edgewood and Alexander streets at about 8:09 p.m. when three men approached him and one of the men pulled out a gun, according to Jackson.

Purvis was able to get into his 1998 Ford Ranger and drive away, but as he was leaving one of the men shot at the vehicle, Jackson said. Damage to the truck is estimated at $800, according to a police report.
