Hilda Leggett

FAIRMONT — Hilda Sealy Leggett, 88, died Jan. 31, 2013, at her home after an illness.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Floyd Cemetery in Fairmont.

Leggett was born in Robeson County. She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Ethel McLellan Sealy.

She retired from Rosenwald Elementary School after 30 years as a teacher assistant.

Leggett was preceded in death by her husband, Proctor Leggett; two brothers, Paul and Richard Sealy; and a sister, Pattie Bullock.

Leggett is survived by her daughters, Brenda Tracey and Ann Britt (Anthony); a son, Wayne Leggett (Brenda); two sisters; Gladys Britt of Southern Pines, and Ruth Gardner of Winston-Salem; her grandchildren, Tony Britt (Michelle), John Britt (Alexa), Carolyn Hunt (Chance) and David Scott (Amy); her great-grandchildren, Madelyn Britt, Felicity Britt, Tatianna Hunt, and Laramie Britt; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Cooke Funeral Home of Lake View.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to caretaker Tammy Hunt and also to Community Home Health and Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethesda United Methodist Church, 4413 Leggett Road, Fairmont .N.C., 28340.
