Horace McRoy Bass, 92, of Evergreen, died Sept. 21, 2012, at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today, the Rev. Andy Lee White officiating. Interment will follow in the Bass family cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy White Bass of the home; three sons, Luon Shelton Bass of Lumberton, Gilbert Gerald Bass of Winston-Salem and Lloyd Anthony Long Bass of the home; two stepsons, Warren G. Allen of Fairmont and Lacy Blankenship of Orrum; a brother, Richard Devon Bass of Whiteville; 18 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
