Linda Hunt of Fairmont and Joey Jacobs of Fairmont announce the engagement of their daughter, Melinda Oxendine of Rowland, to Joseph Hunt of Fairmont, the son of James Robert Hunt and Patricia Hunt of Fairmont.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Peggy Hunt and the late Lathen Hunt of Rowland and Carlee Jacobs and the late Rudolph Jacobs of Fairmont. She attend South Robeson High School in Rowland and graduated from Robeson Community College and works for The Robesonian.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Hazel Hunt and the late Julish Hunt of Fairmont. He attended South Robeson High School in Rowland and works for Palmetto Paving in Conway, S.C.

The wedding will be held at 4 p.m. on Sept. 10 at Northside Independent Church in Lumberton.
