To the Editor,

I attended the county commissioners meeting held Sept. 4 and I was not fooled by Mr. Tom Taylor’s attempt to move toward fiscal reform.

The recommendation to conduct a study is simply a clever ruse designed to lure citizens into complacency on the issue. My observations of the county commissioners’ demeanor and behavior during the meeting revealed they are disillusioned and out of touch with the citizens. Anyone in attendance would have been appalled at Mr. Jerry Stephens’ attempt to defend what is a defenseless position. None of his arguments were justified. If his constituents have a need, present it to all commissioners, defend it, articulate why it deserves support, and then ask for a vote.

Mr. Raymond Cummings stated that if it had not been for his discretionary spending, the ballfield in Union Chapel would not have been built. I disagree with his assertion. If he had presented it before all commissioners and asked for their support, I am sure he could have won a majority vote to support his motion. However, the problem is not the ballfield, but the lack of oversight.

The commissioners don’t get it. No study is required. The citizens of the county have already completed the study. The commissioners are overpaid, under-performing, and abusing taxpayer dollars for personal gain. Mr. Noah Woods, show some leadership. Strike now and make the necessary motions for fiscal reform. You are warned not to claim victory from any results of a study forced upon you by the citizens. Directing this study only serves to demonstrate the weakness and ineptness of the county commissioners.

Citizens, all the commissioners need to be replaced. They have been there far too long and have lost the thirst, drive, and ambition to serve their constituency. The conduct of the commissioners meeting is factitious and void of sincerity. Do you know they do not recognize the citizens in attendance and thank them for being there and participating in government?

Citizens, start now to identify those in the community to replace these legacy commissioners. It is time for new faces, fresh ideas, and people of integrity who want to move the county forward. Our county deserves better.

Resignations all around! First, and foremost from Noah Woods. He is the leader in the Corrupt circle of Wheeling and Dirty Dealing. New rules should be put into place. Term limits, NO MORE PRIVATE SELF SERVING PERKS. Why can't everything be published about the TAX dollars they are receiving? Why does the Robesonian have to keep Finding things out? If the Commissioners are Honest, tell the citizens what you are actually making, now and what you have set up for the future. Have you added the expenses of cars, cell phones and their personal expenses that are probably getting paid for. ALL of the Commissioners should be ashamed to be sitting in these leadership roles. RESIGN and make room for MEN that represent honesty, integrity and a role model for our children. May God keep the windows of truth OPEN. Bless the Robesonian for exposing such criminal behavior! If you take a loaf of bread without paying you are a criminal. If you take tax dollars from the county without asking - YOU ARE A COUNTY COMMISSIONER-

The integrity of a man should never have to be in question. When leaders have our county in their hands. How devastating for our county that doing the right thing behind closed doors never happens. According to our Commissioners it is simple. What They don't know,Won't hurt us. How many Commissioners from the past are in line to get the deferred payment plan? Woods, Oxendine, Cummings, Taylor, Sealey,Stephens, and Herndon should be ashamed to be called a leader. Taking advantage of their positions is criminal when you look at the money that is taken from our tax dollars. They are living a lie and are able to grin in our faces and attend public events with a sense of arrogance that is astounding. The study should not have to be done. They know THEY control their salaries, perks and packages. I am sure there is a lot more that we do not know about. Citizens! Hold them accountable www.commissioners need to be held accountable. Better yet. When you see these Men. Ask them why, they continue to take advantage of our county and the citizen's. Stand up and take our COUNTY out of the hands of the Founding Fathers of a Corrupt Leadership!

You can send all of them home for all I care. I don't see a darn thing they do for the county. But, they LIVE LARGE for sure.
