I am so excited to have Jean Keating coming to our author’s speaking engagement at the Osterneck on Thursday at 7 p.m. She will be bringing her traveling companion, Puff the Papillon, a very cute little dog who stars in many of her books.

Part of her talk will be a Cause for Paws, which talks about her dog books for the animal lovers out there. Some of her books about dogs include: “Beguiling Bundle: Death Takes Best of Breed” (winner of the Arthur Frederick Jones Award for Excellence), “Amorous Accident: a Dog’s Eye View of Murder,” “Paw Prints Through the Years,” and “Pawprints on my Heart.”

Keating will also have books available from her Civil War Romance series such as “Love’s Enduring Bond.” Another part of Jean’s talk will include how to get your book published as well as the marketing aspect of selling your book from her book entitled: “Published! Now $ell it!” Please come out and meet this fantastic author. For information on Jean Keating you can read about her at www.jeankeating.com.

Also coming up this week is Teen Gaming on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. for ages 13 to 18 in the Osterneck Auditorium. Come join Bill and play the Wii with your friends. Don’t forget it’s Mardi Gras time. Kids, come to the library on Saturday for a Mardi Gras Party. This event will be held in the Osterneck Auditorium for kids ages 6 to 12. There will be crafts, games, music and fun.

Don’t forget we also have our Knitting Class on Tuesday at 4 p.m. We will have knitters in the library teaching you techniques and tips to make your own sweaters, scarves and items. Yarn and knitting needles will be provided. We just need you to show up.

The Taste of Robeson is this week as well on Monday and Tuesday. I have to say that my boys love this aspect of Robeson. They love the fact that they can eat and eat and eat from the various restaurants without leaving the building. Plus you get to visit with friends and all for a good cause. We hope to see you there.

Speaking of my boys, they are real comedians. Have you ever lived with comedians? They are a hoot. They keep me smiling and laughing with the various escapades and tales they have to tell. Thank you guys. You are wonderful.

I would like to thank Roy Bauguess and the Robeson County Genealogical Society for donating items to the library recently. Your thoughtfulness is greatly appreciated.
