WINSTON-SALEM — Joan Richardson Price, 81, of Winston-Salem, went home to be with her Lord on March 12, 2013, at Forsyth Medical Center.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Pinedale Christian Church, Preachers Bill McKenzie and Bob McCaskill officiating. Entombment will follow at the Parklawn Mausoleum.

She was born May 24, 1931, in Forsyth County to Matthew D. and Maggie Green Richardson.

Price was a member of Pinedale Christian Church and had a great love for church, family, flowers, and friends. She retired from Western Electric after 25 years of service.

Price was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Annie Richardson; and a brother, Matthew D. “Bud” Richardson Jr.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, R. Phillip Price of the home; a daughter, Vicki P. Bodenhamer and husband Louie of Rowland; three sisters, Audrey Hughes of Lexington, Ruby Younger of Davidson County, and Lola Combs of Winston-Salem; three brothers, John Richardson of Summerville, S.C., Carlton Richardson of Murrells Inlet, S.C., and William “Pete” Richardson of Winston-Salem; two grandchildren, Aaron Gregory Bodenhamer and wife Beverly of Rowland, and Lara B. Masters and husband Kevin of Holly Springs; and five great-grandchildren, Hannah Bodenhamer, Sophia Bodenhamer, Ellie Masters, Christian Masters and Maggie Masters.

The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
