To the Editor,

As you all know, the Lumberton Police Department recently lost one of their own, Master Police Officer Jeremiah Montgomery Goodson Jr., who was killed in the line of duty on July 17h. Officer Goodson leaves behind his wife, Lametria, and three young children.

In response to this tragedy and in memory of Jeremiah Goodson Jr., Lumberton KFC, with two locations at 2000 Roberts Ave. and 520 W. Second St. has decided to help his family. On Wednesday, Aug. 8, Scottish Food Systems will donate a percentage of that day’s sales from both KFC restaurants to Mrs. Goodson, a former Lumberton KFC employee. In addition to the percentage of sales, customer donations for the family will be accepted on the day of the fundraiser.

Our company encourages all citizens of the county to visit one of the Lumberton KFCs that day to purchase and enjoy a meal and at the same time help support the family of our fallen officer, Jeremiah Goodson, Jr. The restaurants are open from 10am to 10 p.m. Please join our general managers, Wanda Pone and Toni Spears, and their teams and help make a difference!

Thank you in advance as we join together as a community to help support Officer Goodson’s family.

Thomas A. Broome

President

Scottish Food Systems, Inc.
