Karen Chavis
SHANNON — Karen Lynn Chavis, 37, of 145 McQueen Road, died Feb. 26, 2013, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Friendly Temple Baptist Church, the Revs. Jimmy Hammonds, Earl Jones and Joseph McMillian officiating. Burial will follow in the Chavis family cemetery on Rennert Road.
Karen was born in Robeson County on Feb. 4, 1976.
She was preceded in death by her son, Master Karson Quinn Chavis.
She is survived by her husband, Donavon Chavis of the home; a son, Spencer Chavis and two daughters, Taylor Chavis and Kalynn Chavis, all of the home; a granddaughter, Acelynn Nicole Chavis of the home; her mother, Brenda Stein and stepfather Charles Stein, of Red Springs; her father, Charles Overstreet of Lumberton; a brother, Bill Overstreet of Red Springs; her father and mother-in-law, the Rev. Hulen and Barbara Chavis; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Revels Funeral Home in Lumberton.
