My name is Pat Middleton and I am the branch manager at the Gilbert Patterson Memorial Library in Maxton. The Gilbert Patterson Memorial Library is open during the following hours: from noon to 8 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays; from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays; from noon to 6 p.m. on Fridays and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. We are opening as much as possible to serve you, the public.
The library is having a book sale. I’m sure you will find some of your favorite authors.
We are getting a lot of new children’s and young adult books, as well as adult fiction and non-fiction. I hope you will visit and check out something that interests you.
I enjoy helping people find what they’re looking for and I don’t give up easily. If we don’t have the book you want, I will check the other libraries in the county. If it is available at another library, I will place a hold for you and have it sent to the Robeson County library of your choice. If it is not available at any of our affiliated libraries, then I will call Lisa Matthews. She is in charge of inter-library loans and she will have it sent from a library outside our system.
The Gilbert Patterson Memorial Library has six Internet access computers and one children’s computer.
Katie Huneycutt, the Robeson County Public Library Youth Service librarian, is hosting the Summer Reading Program. She will be coming to Maxton on Tuesdays at 2 p.m. until the end of July. Programs include stories, crafts and games. Come join the fun. Regular preschool story time programs will resume in the fall. Check with the library for times.
