Charlie Cummings, of 22971 U.S. 301 North, went home to be with the Lord on Nov. 16, 2012, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville. Making his journey of a short 69 years.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fairpoint Freewill Baptist Church in Fairmont, the Revs. Dwight Deal, Jimmy Jones and Hedrick Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Lumbee Memorial Gardens.
He was born Sept. 13, 1943, in Robeson County to the late William J. and Eva Mae Cummings.
He retired from the U.S. Army in 1984, as a Master Sergeant at Fort Bragg, N.C., with 22 ½ years of military service having served tours at Fort Bragg, N,C., Fort Campbell, KY., Germany, Vietnam and Korea. He was awarded numerous awards and decorations during his outstanding career.
To his family he left a legacy built on integrity, loyalty and love. He leaves behind to cherish his fond memories, his wife, Clara Mae Cummings of the home; three sons, Charles Cummings of Fairmont, Chris Cummings of Lumber Bridge, and Carlton Dale Cummings of Fayetteville; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Doive Phelps of Sebring, Fla., and Lorene Brooks of Fairmont; three brothers, Wade Cummings of Lumberton, Hardy Cummings of Fairmont, and Carl Cummings of Raynham; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Revels Funeral Home Lumberton.

Pope Royce McNeill, 71, of 218 Dark Water Lane, departed this life on Nov. 16, 2012, at Duke University Hospital.
The funeral will be 8 p.m. today at Prospect United Methodist Church, the Revs. Keith Long, Robert Mangum and Tray Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Burnt Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery.
McNeill was born on July 1, 1941, in Robeson County to the Pope McNeill and Dortha Chavis McNeill.
He leaves to cherish his memories two children, Sonya McNeill and Mickey McNeill, both of Pembroke; the mother of his children, Jolly T. McNeill of Pembroke; four sisters, Glenda Warren of Virginia, Sandra Long, June Smith and Myra Wagner, all of Lumberton; four brothers, Ronald McNeill of Raleigh, Terry A. McNeill of Lumberton, Linden McNeill and Larry McNeill, both of Lumberton; three grandchildren, Santana B. McNeill, Seavy Lacota Locklear and Master Zachary Chase McNeill; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
The visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Prospect United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Veronica; a son, Terrence; two daughters, Megan and Sarah; his mother, Geneva Juanita Fulton; his brothers, Tommy, Floyd, Jr. and Danny; and two grandchildren.

Lillian Jospehine Wilkins, 89, of 114 N.C. 710 South, died Nov. 16, 2012.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Monday at Harpers Ferry Baptist Church, the Revs. Donald Bullard and Manford Locklear officiating. Burial will follow in Harpers Ferry Baptist Church Cemetery.
She is survived by her daughter, Hazel Strickland; four sons, Dock Wilkins and Stacy Wilkins of Pembroke, Harvey Wilkins of Greensboro, and Oscar Wilkins of Lumberton; a sister, Barbara Locklear of Pembroke; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren.
The visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Thompson’s Funeral Home.
