Mr. and Mrs. Dock E. Locklear Jr. of Lumberton announce the engagement

of their daughter, Jessica Elayne Locklear of Durham, to Troy Dean

Fowler, the son of Gracie Sinclair of Clinton and Garry Fowler of

Addison, Ala.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Clinton Thomas and the late

Annie Ruth Thomas and the late Dock and Mary Locklear, all of

Lumberton. She attended Lumberton High School, The University of North

Carolina at Pembroke and the University of North Carolina at Chapel

Hill. She is employed by Dr. David A. Burton in Raleigh.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Erletha Jacobs and the late Oscar

Jacobs of Clinton and the late Troy and Mary Fowler of Dyersburg,

Tenn. He attended Harrells Christian Academy. He is employed by Stay

Alert Safety Services in Raleigh.

The wedding will be at 4 p.m. Jan. 1 at Godwin Heights Baptist Church

in Lumberton.
