LUMBERTON — The inaugural Book ‘Em North Carolina book fair and writers conference will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Feb. 25, 2012, at Robeson Community College. About 75 authors are expected to participate in book signings, talks and panel discussions.
“The Book ‘Em Foundation only permits one area in each state to be the host for the Book ‘Em Book Festival,” said p.m. terrell, a Lumberton author and one of the co-founders of the Book ‘Em Foundation. “The fact that Lumberton was chosen means they will be the only site in all of North Carolina to hold this.”
Proceeds from the book sales will go to literacy campaigns and anti-crime measures in Robeson County. Events in other states have attracted as many as 1,200 attendees.
“It brings a lot of tourists to the area as well as a lot of authors,” Terrell said.
