SHANNON — A Shannon man was charged last week with sexually assaulting a 15-year-old, according to sheriff’s Lt. Kathy Torre.
David Lemus Lopez, 34, of the 800 block of McQueen Road in Shannon, is charged with first-degree statutory rape with a person at least 6 years old. Torre said the victim had told her mother of the assault at about 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 9 and Lopez was arrested three hours later. He is being held at the county jail on $250,000 bond.
Sheriff’s Sgt. Duron Burney is the lead investigator.
The Robesonian doesn’t identify by name alleged victims of sexual assault.
