Man can’t walk with God
unless he honors Sabbath Day

To the Editor,

I an writing to respond to the letter about the churches in Robeson County. The reason no one sees God in the county is because we are not keeping God’s Sabbath Day holy. Christians should keep all of God’s commandments.

The Fourth Commandment says “to remember the Sabbath Day to keep it holy.” If all Christians would take a stand like Peter and the Apostles and obey God rather than man, they would see more blessings in their walk with God. Most preachers in Robeson County preach that you shouldn’t keep God’s commandment because of grace, but if they prayed more and studied more they would know Jesus never dismissed the commandments.

Preaches should know God never put Sunday as the day of worship; it was the Sabbath Day God told men to keep and worship and for any God-fearing Christians to not keep the commandment of God, he or she should be ashamed.

For the Christians who don’t know the Sabbath Day, it is from sunset on Friday to sunset Saturday. That’s God’s holy day. I go to Lumber-River Seventh Day Adventist Church and it’s a blessing to keep God’s holy day.

I went to church for 27 years on Sunday not knowing I was intentionally breaking God’s commandments. But through careful study of God’s word and through prayer, I started obeying God. If you want blessings in your life, start keeping the commandments of Gods and break away from the traditions of man. I’m also talking to all preachers who preach on Sunday to obey God, and not man.

Here’s some verses that will explain God’s word and commandments better: St. John 14:15, St. Mark 7:5-10, and Deuteronomy 8:6-11

Holy simply means set apart. The Sabbath is the seventh day of the week when God rested from His work of creating the Universe. We are in turn commanded to remember the Sabbath. The reason Christians gather and worship on Sundays is because that is the day of the week Jesus conquered the grave. We celebrate his resurrection.

Even if a man has a job that requires him to work on Saturday, God understands. Jesus himself said that the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. We are just supposed to remember to rest from our labor. If your job grants you Tuesdays off instead of Saturdays, God understands.

The idea that this county is overrun with vile evil-doers has something to do with people going to church on Sunday is a pretty big stretch. I think it has more to do with man's sinful nature than God turning his back on this county until everyone goes to church on Saturday.
