Staff report

MAXTON — The Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a Maxton man who was found dead Saturday morning.

Kent Bryant, 33, Maxton, apparently died of stab wounds, according to sheriff’s Maj. Howard Branch. He was found dead in the roadway in front of a residence on the 200 block of Cabinet Shop Road in Maxton.

Branch said that Bryant had an earlier altercation with a person investigators plan to question. He did not want to release that person’s name.

Detective James Obershea is conducting the investigation. When investigators finish the investigation, they will take their findings to the District Attorney’s Office, which will make any decision on possible charges.

According to an obituary published in today’s The Robesonian, Bryant had two daughters, and lived with his mother at 253 Sanbryer Lane in Maxton. The Sheriff’s Office had an address of 201 Cabinet Shop Road.

Bryant spent about four years in prison after being convicted of multiple for breaking and enterings, according to state Department of Public Safety.

Found DEAD of STAB WOUNDS in the middle of the road, and now some "investigator" is "probing it as a homicide". Obviously, some of these "investigators" need to follow Ducky "The Duck" Duckworth around a while and see how investigations are done RIGHT.

If you knew anything about The investigators and their investigation abilities... You would know that Obershea is one of the best and hardest working Detectives. I am sure he can get it right without following Mr. Duckworth.
