Martha B. Hunt
MAXTON — Martha Brooks Hunt, 88, of 439 Onnie Joe Road, was born on April 18, 1924, to the late Raymond Brooks and Bessie Roller, and departed this life on Feb. 25, 2013, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.
The funeral will be 8 p.m. today at Thompson’s Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Bill James Locklear officiating. Burial will follow in St. Anna Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Brooks was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Bennett Locklear; two sisters, Mary Clark and Geraldine Brooks; and two brothers, Raymond Brooks Jr. and Samuel Brooks.
Hunt leaves to cherish her memories a sister, Margaret Maynor of Pembroke; two brothers, Wilton Brooks (Betty) of Laurinburg, and Van C. Locklear (Libby) of Maxton; her dear and loving nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Thompson’s Funeral Home.
