MAXTON — A 34-year-old Maxton man will serve 30 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to being part of an organization responsible for distributing more than 550 pounds of cocaine in Robeson County, according to a statement from the United States Attorney General’s Office.

Donald Scott Jr, was sentenced on Tuesday and will also serve five years of probation following his release, according to the statement. Scott pleaded guilty on Nov. 3, 2011, to conspiring to distribute and possessing with the intent to distribute 5 kilograms or more of cocaine, according to the statement.

Scott was involved in cocaine distribution from January 1999 to August 31, 2011, during which time law enforcement officers purchased cocaine from Scott on four occasions, according to the statement.

I think Mr. Scott has a hater......the word WORK might mean a lot to him because sounds to me like he worked his ass off to get what he has weather he got it selling dope or working a 9 to 5. At least he was man enough to do what he had to do to take care of his family so the state wouldn't have to....the only bad thing f*** ed up about this is the system. You get more time for selling dope then you do taking someone's life. Maybe if he had killed someone in cold blood they would have given him a slap on the wrist and 5 to 10 years. He might not have gotten that once they give him a lesser charge then murder like they always do. Don't judge a book by it's cover maybe you should read it before you give your opinion on it. I known opinions are like assholes everyone has one and your entitled to yours and so am I. But it would be different if this man was killing, stealing, and causing trouble. But they failed to mention this is the only thing this man has ever been in trouble with the law about besides a seat belt ticket and loud music. They are too busy trying to make him out to be a bad person. And yes wrong is wrong and right is right and crime is crime....and if you do the crime you should do the crime but the time they gave this man don't make any sense. If he had killed 2 people he would have gotten that much time unless on was a police officer...

That has to be the least cogent argument I have ever seen on here. It's the mentalities of people like you that perpetuate the violence and state of ignorance in Robeson co. If you actually think selling 550 (lbs not grams) of cocaine is work then you deserve to be in prison with him. Your entire statement is specious and ridiculous. Why don't Mr. Scott and folk like you get educated so you can find jobs and be productive members of society, rather than the trash that you are. If you think dumping 550 lbs of coke into Robeson county is harmless, you are a bigger idiot than Scott. It's time to pay the piper and get off your ass. Try working for a living like most of us.

Congrats dope princess! You get the scum defender award!! It's been awhile since I awarded one. I agree the court system is broken here, but all this dope has ruined many lives. This man and his accomplices will have another judgement as well someday.. Hope he's ready for that one. You as well. Get your head out of your anus and get your morals unscrewed.

Excuse me Princcess, but do you know what you are saying to the young people on here who may be struggling with a decision as to find a good job or go to school and get an education, as opposed to throwing their lives away by choosing to sell drugs and destroy their lives!!!! You should be ashamed of yourself for even trying to defend this grown man's actions. It is wrong, It is wrong, It is wrong!! There is no happy ending to the fantasy belief and so called glamour of the drug dealing business. It is destroying this generation of young nieve, easy prey, dreamers as the fatcats sit back and grin and enjoy the profits of the stupid actions of the wanta be gangsters. This man has made his choice. He will now pay for his actions. He will lose all of his rights as a citizen. He will now do as he is told to do from sun up to sun down. He will eat when he is allowed to eat, he will get up from his bed when he is told to get up and go to bed when he is told to do so, all the time thinking about the freedom he has given up, the good times he could be having with his wife/girl friend, the smell of freedom he once had but now no longer exist. Night time will be the worst. The friends he thought he had, have long since forgot about him.

This is the price he will pay for allowing himself to dream the wrong dreams. I could go on and on but I hope anyone reading this gets the real picture of the high price you will pay if you too are dreaming the drug business dream. The longer you play, the higher price you will pay. Let this be your warning!!!!!

The word "WORK" doesn't sound so bad now does it? To all you wannabe dope dealers, learn a lesson from this and learn it now. Nothing that comes fast is worth having. 30 years, bye bye girlfriend/wife (Jody got her and gone), bye bye children (new daddy now), bye bye mom, dad, brothers, sister. And for what a piece of dope.
