LUMBERTON — Four towns will participate on Tuesday in National Night Out, a nationwide celebration that seeks to strengthen neighborhoods through police-community partnerships.
The following towns will hold a night out at the following times and locations: Red Springs at 6 p.m. at Tom Cope Park; Maxton from 6 p.m. at Beacham Park; Fairmont at 7 p.m. at the Heritage Center; and Lumberton at 6:30 p.m. at the downtown plaza.
The national celebration was created in order to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, and to build support and participation in local anti-crime programs. Each event will feature activities for kids, as well as fire and police exhibits.
The Lumberton celebration will feature the band Big Daddy Drive.
