ST. PAULS — A Downtown Night Out, sponsored by the St. Pauls Chamber of Commerce, will be held from 7 to 9 tonight in the downtown area.
It will feature a Hope Mills Cruzers Car Club cruise-in, a Michael Jackson impersonation by Val Humphrey of Lumberton, a sidewalk sale including a variety of arts and crafts items, and food such as local honey, funnel cakes and home-made ice cream. There will also be a free outdoor movie.

LUMBERTON — Hubert and Helen Lamb are asking for donations for Cranks Creek Survival Center, a Harlan County, Ky.-based organization that helps the severely economically-depressed coal towns in the Appalachian Mountains.
The Lambs visited the center three years ago, and have been volunteering for it since. They are hoping to stuff a Survival Center truck that will leave Saturday.
To donate, drop off food, clothing, furniture, or other goods at the Lambs’ home, 568 Watts Road in Lumberton, or call (910) 738-8846 or (910) 618-4426 for them to pick up a donation.
LUMBERTON — The Robeson County Black Caucus will meet on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the weed and seed building on Martin Luther King Drive in Lumberton.
The caucus will discuss President Obama’s health plan and the planned Veterans Admninistration medical clinic in Robeson County.
