A musical group with strong ties to Robeson County lost in the final round of the Singing Family Face Off on “The Early Show” on CBS.

The Peay family was pitted against musical families competing against each other with the winner getting a recording contract with CBS Records.

The Peays lost to J4, a group from Bluff City, Tenn. The two groups performed on “The Early Show” on March 22. Videos of their performances were posted on cbsnews.com, where votes could also be cast.

Although the four members of the group live in Greensboro now, they grew up with their mother, Joyce Peay, in Rowland and graduated from South Robeson High School.
