LUMBERTON — Blood donors can qualify for a chance to win round-trip tickets from Delta Airlines during the Red Cross’ “Give Blood and Go!” campaign, which runs through the end of the year.

Healthy people 17 years old or older who weigh at least 110 pounds can donate blood at the following drives: Friday at New Point Baptist Church, 2:30 to 7 p.m.; Nov. 28 at Wal-Mart from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; Dec. 2 at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Dec. 16 at Native Angels in Pembroke from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; Dec. 16 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; and Dec. 17 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center from 7 to 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 to 6 p.m.

In North Carolina, the American Red Cross services 100 hospitals. The organization says that about 1,600 people need to give blood each day to meet that demand.

For information about donating blood or to schedule an appointment to donate, visit redcross.org or call (800) 418-3543.
