RALEIGH — Lumberton native Sherri Britt has been promoted to regional director for the North Carolina Division of Public Health’s Early Intervention Program.

Britt will direct a multi-county Children’s Developmental Services Agency with a main office in Pinehurst, and seven satellite offices in surrounding counties.

The Children’s Developmental Services Agency is the local lead agency for the Early Intervention Program for infants and toddlers aged birth to 3 years with, or at risk for, developmental disabilities.

Britt will manage a clinical staff consisting of physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, psychologists, social workers and service coordinators who work with children and families in the Early Intervention program, as well as a regional network of enrolled service providers.

Britt is a graduate of Lumberton Senior High School, The University of North Carolina at Pembroke, and UNC-Chapel Hill.

She resides in Raleigh, along with her children, Britt and Chelsea Prevatte. Her parents, Vernon and Barbara Britt, live in Lumberton, as do her brother and grandmother.
