Sidney Locklear
PEMBROKE — Sidney Nelson Locklear, 67, of 6240 N.C. 72 West, Pembroke, was born Feb. 25, 1945, to Willie Mack and Beulah Locklear. He departed this life on Feb. 16, 2013.
The funeral will be 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Airy Baptist Church, the Revs. Dannie Jacobs, Steve Strickland and Dr. Kenneth Locklear officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Locklear was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Alfred Lee Locklear; and three brothers, Sue Locklear, Alfred Locklear and William Locklear.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Janice Scott Locklear; a son, Darrick (Maria) Locklear; a daughter, Jenise (Keith) Cummings; seven grandchildren, Tiffany, Ryan, Brittany, Ariel, Kenston, Kristen and Kamryn; a great-granddaughter, Shaylee; a brother, Boss Lambert Locklear; two sisters, Earlene Locklear and Mary Dicie Lowry; special friends, Martin Dial, Roy Locklear and Pete Locklear; and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 today at Revels Funeral Home in Pembroke.
