LUMBERTON — A Lumberton teenager was killed Sunday night when he was thrown from his truck in a single-vehicle wreck on Lamb Road, according to the Highway Patrol.

Ryan Douglas Locklear, 19, of 253 Ridgefield Drive, died at about 9:57 p.m. when his 2006 GMC pickup truck crossed the center line while entering a curve, exited the road to the left, struck a ditch and overturned several times, according to the accident report by Trooper James Jones.

Locklear, who was not wearing a seat belt, was killed immediately, according to the report.

The report said Locklear was driving 75 mph in the 55-mph zone. Alcohol is suspected as a contributing factor.

Damage to the truck, which is registered to Randy Locklear of the same address, was estimated at $7,000, according to the accident report.

OMG This is such a tragic loss! 5 months ago this family lost a son and now they lose another one....may the Lord comfort this family. We wonder why this family has been struck by this heavy burden, but we cannot question Gods work only he knows what he is doing and we shall find out why when he is ready to lets us know....As of right now all we know is that This young man has joined his brother in heaven and they are now angels watching over their family and friends.....May God comfort each and everyone who has been sadden by the loss of these 2 boys espcially the Locklear family... May God bless you and comfort you all. Thoughts and prayers to the family..... **Rest easy**

Dont know what God's plan is for this family, but seems like he is trying to get someones attention it wasnt long ago a chain of events started to happen, first Pastor Ronald died, then the wreck involving the girls over from DSS, then a brother drowns, and now another wreck, all this happened to a family in just a little over a year it is so sad for them to be going through all this, there is a reason for everything in God's plan sometimes we need to just sit back and reflect on our lives and seek guidance from the Lord, tomorrow isnt promised to none of us we all need to wise up and take heed to the warnings that God gives us all
