Trudy Lee Oxendine, 73, of 389 Solomn Road, was born July 4, 1939, to the late Dewey and Corinthia Oxendine of the Union Chapel Community. She ended life’s journey on Oct. 6, 2012, at Whispering Pines Rehabilitation Center.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Calvary Holiness Church in Pembroke. Burial will follow in the Oxendine Cemetery in Lumberton.
Trudy loved the lord, her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She touched the lives of many and showed endless love, God’s lLove. Her heart was strong, her mind keen, she was glowing, and her heart was set on Jesus.
Trudy waspreceded in death by her husband, Larce Oxendine and three children, Gertrude Oxendine Locklear, Joycie M. Oxendine and John Nelson Oxendine. Heaven is much sweeter and brighter today with these smiles.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy Oxendine Sampson; her husband, Edwin “Buddy” Sampson; a son, Lavern “Sammy” Oxendine; two sons-in-law, William K. Locklear and Calhoun Oxendine Jr.; a sister, Ruth Locklear; a brother, Dewey Oxendine Jr.; and special friends, Berneatha Locklear and Luis Brewer. Trudy’s legacy lives on in her grandchildren, Miss Jessica LaHope Oxendine, William Cody Locklear, Adrianna Locklear, Edwin Deangelo Sampson, Ryan O’Larce Sampson, Hailey Brianna Locklear, and Ansley Lynn Locklear. God is love.
The family will receive friends 6 to 9 p.m. today at Revels Funeral Home in Pembroke.
