Locklear-Oxendine
LaCinda Lora Locklear and Peter Duel Oxendine, both of Lumberton were united in marriage on November 3, at 3:00pm. The Barn wedding ceremony was held at Richland Farms in Red Springs owned by Mr. Henry Locklear Jr. The Rev. Kenneth Revels officiated the wedding.
Music was provided by Pierre Locklear, Lambert Locklear, and Tabitha Bryant.
The bride is the daughter of Laney Locklear Sr. of Union Chapel. She is the granddaughter of the late Ashby and Pearlie Locklear of Prospect, and the late Duckery and Flora Ellen Oxendine of Union Chapel, and Evelyn Grace Sampson of Lumberton. She attended Purnell Swett High School and The University of North Carolina at Pembroke and is employed with the Public Schools of Robeson County at Piney Grove Elementary School.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Petter Oxendine Jr. of Lumberton. He is the grandson of the late McClelland Locklear and Annie Bell Oxendine of Raeford. He attended Purnell Swett High School and Robeson Community College and is employed with Lumberton Chevrolet.
The maid of honor was Mrs. Alison Oxendine. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Beth Locklear, Mrs. Bobbie Jo McLean, Miss Becky Jacobs, Miss Casandra Oxendine, and Mrs. Catrina Deese. Honorary bridesmaids were Miss Sicily Locklear, Miss Layah Oxendine, and Miss Kayla Locklear. The miniature bride/flower girl was Emma Locklear.
The best man was Mr. Pete Locklear. Groomsmen were Mr. Eric Woodell, Mr. Laney Locklear Jr., Mr. Dwain Davis, Mr. Shon Locklear, and Mr. Tracy Carter. The ring bearer was Brayden Jacobs.
A bridal shower was given at Union Chapel Community Building by Mrs. Bernetha Locklear, Mrs. Bobbie Jo McLean, and Mrs. Beth Locklear.
A dinner night with bridesmaids was given by Mrs. Catrina Deese and Ms. Becky Jacobs.
Mrs. Kathy Hunt directed the wedding. The flowers were by Mr. Ray Locklear. Decorations were by Mrs. Joan Scott, Mr. Ray Locklear, and Mrs. Victoria Jacobs. The Guest Register was Ms. Vicki Locklear (Register of Deeds for Robeson County). The wedding cake was by Mr. Jimmy Strickland. Photographer was Mr. Eric Jones. Videographer was Mr. Warren Love. Slideshow presentation was by Mrs. Delois Lowry.
The couple enjoyed a honeymoon Cruise to Key West, Cayman Islands, and Jamaica.
The couple will reside in Lumberton.
