Movie Night: The Lumber River State Park is offering a viewing of the BBC’s “Planet Earth.” The viewing will be at the Princess Ann Access Area at 6:30 p.m. Bring the family, popcorn, drinks and bug spray.

Fundraiser: The Lumber Bridge Volunteer Fire Department will hold a photo fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Photos will be taken with a spring background on a first-come, first-serve basis. Three photo packages are offered. . All proceeds will go to the Lumber Bridge Volunteer Fire Department.

Civil War reenactment: A reenactment of Gen. Sherman’s “March through the Carolinas” will be held on April 6 and April 7 at 10765 Barker Ten Mile Road in St. Pauls. Gates open at 9 a.m. each day. A battle will be held April 6 at 2 p.m., and April 7 at 1 p.m. Tickets are $8. Students can get in for $5 with school identification, and children under age 10 are free. The reenactment is presented by Sons of Confederate Veterans camps 168 and 216.

Nature Hike: Lumber River State Park is offering a Nature Hike. The group will meet at Fair Bluff Boardwalk at 2 p.m. All participants need to dress for the weather and wear good foot wear. This program will give visitors a chance to experience the natural beauty of the river. Bring snacks, bottled water, sunscreen and any other items needed for the Nature Hike.

Earth Day: Robeson Community College will be celebrating Earth Day at the RCC Greenzone in Lumberton. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be free educational workshops provided and plants will be given out to anyone who attends the event.

Movie: The Carolina Civic Center will hold a showing of “Red River” starring John Wayne at 7 p.m. as part of its Friday Night Classic Film Series. Tickets are $5.

Shag dance lessons: The Lumberton Recreation Department will sponsor shag dance lessons with new classes starting April 1. The classes will be held in the south end of the Pine Street Activity Center. Beginners’ classes start at 7 p.m. and intermediate classes start at 8 p.m. A partner is not required. Hand-made items for sale: Lumbee Elders Southern Spirit Club will hold a sale every Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m. Items include quilts, aprons and pillows. The club is located on Back Swamp and 301 Roads. For information, call 910-738-4075.

Fitness Fusion Class: The Bill Sapp Recreation Center at 1100 N. Cedar Street in Lumberton will hold an exercise class every Monday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Classes will include a blend of exercises, such as resistance training, interval training, ply metrics and endurance exercises. Kickboxing aerobics: The Bill Sapp Center, at 1100 N.
