To the Editor,

I would like to thank everyone connected to the TriWarriors Youth Triathlon that took place at the UNC Pembroke campus recently. My great-granddaughter entered the 6- to 8-year-old group. This was her first triathlon and she came in fourth place. She trained hard and was so proud.

After looking for a while we found a nice 21-speed bicycle for her and she fell in love with it. She was so proud of her bike and enjoyed training so much that she declared that she wanted to enter the Olympic games one day.

But someone had a different idea. Two weeks after the triathlon, someone stole her bicycle from the carport at her home, along with her father’s, who helped train her for the event. So if you happen to see a light blue Trek 21-speed mountain bike, please check and see if it still has her dreams on it.
