MAXTON — An H&R Block retail tax office will open on Monday at 105 N. Patterson St. to help residents navigate the tax code and claim all the credits and deductions they are entitled. An open house will be held on Thursday at the new location from 4 to 6:30 p.m.

H&R Block tax professionals will be available at the open house to discuss tax law changes, tax planning and other financial resources available through the office.

LUMBERTON — Robeson Community College will hold a series of free seminars for people interested in starting a farm-related business from 6 to 9 p.m. starting Thursday.

The following topics will be discussed on the following days: “Ways to Start an Ag Business” on Thursday; “How to Find or Expand Your Ag Market” on Jan. 15; and “How Do I Price My Ag Products” on Jan. 17.
