names its best

ST. PAULS — Beth Jackson, Lisa Anelli and Drenna Locklear have been named employees of the month for October at St. Pauls Ele-mentary School.

Jackson, an employee for 27 years, is the Bus Driver of the Month; Anelli, a teacher at the school for 22 years, is the Certified Employee of the Month; and Locklear, a teacher assistant at the school for 12 years, is the Classified Employee of the Month.

LHS band

selling fruit

LUMBERTON — The Lumberton High School band is having its annual Band Fruit Sale now until Nov. 30.

Grapefruit, navel, tangelos, juice oranges and tangerines are for sale for $22 per 20 pounds. Mixed 40-pound boxes of red and gold apples are available for $35 per box. Proceeds from sales go toward band uniforms for 2014.

Planetarium

goes Mayan

LUMBERTON — The Robeson Planetarium will hold Mayan Astonomy: Skywatchers of Ancient Mexico at the Planetarium and Science Center at 420 Caton Road on Saturday from 6 to 7 p.m.
