Hospice’s festival opens Dec. 2
LUMBERTON — Southeastern’s Hospice’s three-day Festival of Trees event, with its “A Holiday to Remember” theme, will open on Dec. 2 in the Osterneck Auditorium at 102 N. Chestnut St., across from the Robeson County Public Library, from 1 until 5 p.m. It will continue Monday and Tuesday, open each day from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The festival includes the Unique Boutique gift shop, which offers fresh-baked goodies, specialty food, crafts and gift items, such as holiday ornaments, wreaths and centerpieces, for purchase. A special Memorial Tree, which features the names of Southeastern Hospice patients who have passed away since December 2011, will also be featured.
Money raised by this 27th Festival celebration will benefit Southeastern Hospice and Camp Care.

Health Mall to host open house Dec. 11
LUMBERTON — Southeastern Health Mall will host an open house from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 11, on the campus of Biggs Park Mall at 2934 N. Elm St.
The event will offer light refreshments, flu vaccinations, free screenings for blood pressure, height, weight, and body mass index as well as tours of the offices located within the facility including: Community Health Services; Diabetes Community Center; Duke Medicine: Duke Cardiology and Duke Cardiovascular Surgery of Lumberton; Southeastern Express Lab; Southeastern Pharmacy Care Clinic; Southeastern Pharmacy Health Mall; Southeastern Surgical Center; Southeastern Urgent Care Lumberton and Southeastern Weight Loss Center.

Health program to offer free sessions
LUMBERTON — BodyWorks, a health education program designed by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, will host 10 free sessions in Robeson County beginning in February.
Each session will provide caregivers of teenagers with information on healthy shopping and cooking strategies, a recipe book and food and fitness journals.

Mobile Medical in area this week
LUMBERTON — Southeastern Mobile Medical will be stationed at Floyd’s Temple No. 1 in Lumberton on Tuesday, and Beauty Spot United Methodist Church in Rowland on Wednesday and Thursday.
The mobile unit operates from 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. While cash is not accepted, for security reasons, patients may present insurance information (private insurance, Medicare or Medicaid), money orders or personal checks. Appointments are not required but may be scheduled by calling 910- 674-6144.
