LUMBERTON — Marilyn Lee Helms, wife of Timothy N. Helms, 58, passed away Feb. 13, 2013, at Duke University Hospital of Durham.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Floyd Memorial Chapel, Dr. John Borek Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. Saturday at Lakeland Memorial Park of Monroe.

She was born on Jan. 1, 1955, in Jacksonville, Fla., to the late Harold Franklin Miner and the late Dorothy Lois Miner. She retired from Robeson County Dept. of Social Services. Her hobbies included horseback riding, painting, crocheting, gardening, and fishing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert Helms, and a brother, Charles F. Miner.

Helms is survived by her husband, Tim Helms, of White Oak; two sons, Jason Mitchell of Orlando, Fla., and Michael Helms of White Oak; four brothers, John Borek Jr. and wife Lois of Duluth, Ga., Leonard Miner and wife Laurie of Stockbridge, Ga., Robin Miner and wife Roberta of Stockbridge, Ga., and Jeff Miner of Forest Park, Ga.; two sisters, Charlotte Knox and husband David of Conyers, Ga., and P.J. Wager and husband Mark of Newman, Ga.; and a grandchild, R.J. “Doodlebug” Helms Jr.

The visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory Inc. of Lumberton.
