Ramona Stephens

MARION, S.C. — Ramona Hill Stephens went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Feb. 9, 2013.

She was born Sept. 30, 1947, in Robeson County to the late David and Annie Bell Ivey Hill.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Richardson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.

She was a devoted Christian, taught Sunday school class at the Marion County Convalescent Center and gave her time and energy to others. Her husband describes her as, “The best woman I’ve ever known who always helped others and never met a stranger.” She was a loving wife, tender mother and wonderful friend to many. She worked most of her life in personal care services and retired with Home Health Care of D.S.S.

Ramona awaits her family in Heaven, her husband, Lawrence H. Stephens of Marion, S.C.; four sons, Larry H. Stephens (Tara) of Timmonsville, S.C., Walter E. Oliver (Tammy) of Marion, S.C., Billy R. Oliver of Shreveport, La., and the Rev. J. Shawn Brashear (Tinna) of Marion, S.C.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Richardson Funeral Home.
