RED SPRINGS — Two Red Springs men are accused of running a drug operation from their home after police searched it on Friday and found cocaine, according to police.
Bryne Keith McNair, 42, of 105 Haywood St., was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver a controlled substance, selling and delivering a controlled substance and maintaining a dwelling. He was placed in the Robeson County jail under $50,000 bond.
Roy Lee McLean Jr., 59, also of 105 Haywood St., was charged with maintaining a dwelling and placed in the jail under $1,000 bond.
According to Red Springs police Detective Tommy Wright, police searched the home just before 6 a.m. Friday and recovered some cocaine, which Wright said was less than an ounce. Two other people who were in the home at the time were not charged, he said.
Wright said lawmen had been receiving information about the home for “at least several months.”
“The Red Springs Police Department has been receiving information about that residence and others in the area, and we’re determined to eliminate drug sales in the community and improve the quality of life for our citizens,” Wright said. “We’re not going to tolerate drug dwellings within the city limits, making it unsafe for our citizens.”
According to the N.C. Department of Correction, McLean was charged in 2003 with possession with intent to sell and distribute a schedule I substance and possession with intent to distribute a schedule II substance.
McNair has a file with the Department of Correction dating back to 1991 that includes multiple drug and robbery charges in Robeson and Mecklenburg counties.
