LUMBERTON — A Lumberton man has been arrested and charged after firing shots in the parking lot of Walmart on Fayetteville Road, according to reports from Lumberton Police Department and the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office.

Kevin Junior Grant, 27, of 2862 Regan Church Road, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, felony cocaine possession and driving while impaired. He is being held at Robeson County jail under a $26,750 secured bond. Grant is also facing charges of failure to appear in court.

Grant was arrested after a sheriff’s deputy saw gunshots being fired from the vehicle he was in, according to Lumberton police Capt. Johnny Barnes.

Grant was one of four people in the 2010 Nissa Altima belonging to Bridgett Nicole Jernigan, of Evers Road in Bladenboro, according to the report. Grant and Jernigan, along with Brandon Paul Prevatte, of Riverwood Avenue in Lumberton, and Sandra Lynn Williams, of Rowan Road in Lumberton, said they had been robbed of $300 at gunpoint, according to the report.

The vehicle was searched and a gun was found in the car, Barnes said.

Grant has previously faced charges of carrying a concealed weapon, drug possession, breaking and entering and larceny.

i fully agree with you on that,but on top of that actually make them serve time in prison instead of giving them probation and the chance to repeat there mistakes. they did it before, why would probation stop them from doing it again?

Thousands of people were dazzled by the fireworks display at the annual Lumberton Family Fourth celebration at the Lumberton High School football stadium on Tuesday. Many watched the display from parking lots and sidewalks around town and from their own front yards. Before the show, attendees were treated to a performance by the Carolina Breakers, and a stunt by the Army Rangers, who parachuted onto the football field.

My brother was a great guy, no one was in the car with him, you didn't offer to drive him nor ride, yet choose to come on here & talk about him in a negative fashion is TOTAL DISRESPECT to all his FAMILY.
