LUMBERTON — A Lumberton man will serve three to four years in prison after pleading guilty on Wednesday to setting fire to three mobile homes in 2011.
Jimmy Antrone Thomas, 35, of Flynn Road, pleaded guilty to two counts of burning certain buildings, according to sheriff’s Lt. Brian Duckworth, an arson investigator.
Thomas had been accused of using beer bottles filled with gasoline to start the fires in Brittland Mobile Home Park on Alamac Road on April 7, 2011. All three homes were unoccupied.
Thomas was charged with three counts of burning an unoccupied structure, three counts of felony breaking and entering, and giving fictitious information to a law enforcement officer. He will receive credit for time served since he was arrested on April 11, 2011, Duckworth said.
According to Duckworth, Thomas was upset because he and his girlfriend had recently been evicted from a home at the lot. Thomas also was ordered to pay $16,000 restitution to the park, Duckworth said.
According to the N.C. Department of Correction, Thomas was convicted of second-degree rape in 1993, and stalking in May 2010.
